Embark at Hurricane

The entire staff at Hurricane (Daniel, Jared, Ashley, Ben and Taylor, not to mention all the support staff – techs, kitchen staff etc.) is not only amazing at their jobs, but I felt they truly cared about my child and his progress. They went above and beyond to ensure his success. He was safe and well cared for and most importantly made great progress toward stability and improved mental health. The entire staff was kind, respectful and a joy to work with. When you have a child with significant behavioral challenges as the boys in this facility do, you worry anytime they are not with you about what they are doing, are they safe, are they getting into or causing trouble etc. I felt so confident with the staff at Hurricane that for the first time in many years, I did not worry about these things. Anytime I had a question the staff was quick to respond to my inquiry and keep me updated on how he was doing. They listened, answered questions and provided support to us as parents. My son has never really connected much to adults outside of the family (teachers, coaches, therapist etc) and always complained about feeling misunderstood or about something the adults were doing. However, he never complained once about this staff and in fact he felt so connected to them that he requested being notified of his departure with enough time to be able to say goodbye. It has been 4 months since he left Embark at Hurricane. He went from there to an Embark IOP program. He has been able to utilize the skills he learned in Hurricane and maintain his regulation and mental health more than we ever thought possible. Things aren’t perfect and he still struggles somewhat, but he is able to use the skills he learned to work through the difficult times. We will be forever grateful to the staff at Embark Hurricane!

We were at a loss and had zero options in Florida. Our son completed two residential facilities prior to Embark in Hurricane, Utah. The staff at Embark provided the highest level care. It is so scary leaving your son anywhere much less across the country. Daniel made the Inprocessing process smooth and he continued to be available 24/7 while he was there. Dr. Taylor Beatty, Jase’s psychiatrist listened to me and for the first time, after trying every medication under the sun before his time at Embark, Dr. Taylor got it right. Jase hated taking meds and was refusing at one point because he was so frustrated and he is now happy with his meds. Ben the group therapist for the boys pushed Jase to an uncomfortable place and eventually got to a place where he built confidence and helped my son become accountable and thankful for his guidance, support and mentorship. Allen, Jase’s therapist helped Jase do the most work on himself and our family together. We are forever grateful for his knowledge, empathy and care. Communication was never a problem and if any difficult issues arose the Embark staff, especially the owner, Billy, handled them with the upmost professionalism and care. Embark holds a special place in our hearts and if you are looking for somewhere to send your child, we highly recommend them. Thank you for helping Jase and our family.

Words cannot begin to described how positive Embark Hurricane was for our son. The change that I could see and hear in 3 months time was incredible. Daniel was great with admissions and helping us get everything lined up. He made himself available to answer any questions we had. My son's therapist Jared did an amazing job working with him and the director Taylor was very thorough as well. Yes, it was very difficult to leave my son halfway across the US for 3 months but everyone cared for my son like he was their's. If you are not sure where else to turn to help your child, please call them as they want to help you, help your child become better in all aspects of life.
