Westborough Behavioral Health
Reviews
My son came here for Behavioral Therapy, psychiatric evaluations, and medication changes. The lack of communication has been appalling, the “doctor” has no idea what he’s doing, and there have been zero evaluations or treatment plans made. They let my son watch TV all day and he’s just a drugged up zombie. And they only let you see your child for 30 minutes a day. He told me no one listens to him, and I’m pulling him out because I fear he’s being mistreated. But anytime I call, no one knows what’s going on. At one point, they didn’t even know who my son was. They keep everything tight lipped because they don’t want anyone to know what’s goes on. It’s scary and disturbing. No one should ever let their child be “treated” here. I called and talked to 3 people yesterday about discharging him today, and now that I’m here no one knows that he was being discharged. Your time will be wasted and your child will regress by being in here.
This place is a jail disguised as a hospital. Most of your time there will be spent idle, either pacing or coloring. The staff don't listen to you and are not competent in deescalation techniques. Restraints, sedation injections and fights happen on the daily. Patients wait days to receive their personal items including underwear. Patients were denied access to their as needed medication and are left to figure out how to receive them on their own. Guests are not allowed to bring anything in for their loved ones and are only given 30 minute visits. Patients are only allowed to go outside for a total of 1.5 hours during meal times in a small outdoor cage on pavement. The only employee that advocates for patients is Sha, you are lucky is she is assigned to you. Do not go here unless it's your ONLY possible option to keep you safe.
It’s hard to review a a place where your child is going in a state of crisis. In this type of environment, your child will also encounter other kids facing their own challenges. My social worker, Katie, was a great communicator who seemed to get a very good sense of my child in a short amount of time. I spoke to the Dr on the phone twice and felt listened to. After a week and minor med adjustments my seven year old was referred to a less restrictive environment and transported the next day.
